Crunchyroll Games Announces New “Mob Psycho 100” Game

Crunchyroll Games, a subdivision of anime streaming service Crunchyroll, announced Monday that “Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Battle,” an original mobile game, will first be playable at Anime Expo 2019 as a demo and then will later release this fall on iOS and Android.

Synopsis of the Mob Psycho 100 anime via Crunchyroll:

“Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. “Mob,” is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he’s surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make? The anime based on the original story by ONE, the idol of the webcomic world and creator of One-Punch Man, is coming your way with animation by leading animation studio Bones!”

Crunchyroll describes the game as “an original, turn-based RPG mobile game, allowing fans to interact with and use powerful psychic moves alongside their favorite characters from the show.” Though an original story, the game will utilize certain elements from the first season of the anime. The voice cast of the anime will be reprising their roles in Psychic Battle as well.

The game will be available in the following locations: the U.S. and its territories, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Crunchyroll Games will showcase a demo for fans to try at Crunchyroll HQ, the company’s offsite at Anime Expo over July 4 weekend in Los Angeles.

The first season of Mob Psycho 100 began airing on Adult Swim’s Toonami block on October 27, 2018 at 11:30 PM. On January 5, 2019, the series was moved to 12:30 AM where it continued to air until the completion of its first season on February 2, 2019.
