Welcome back to the Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update for the week of September 27th, 2021!
As you may know, Capcom and Disney are in talks into bringing back Marvel VS Capcom 2 for modern consoles. Personally, I do want this to happen but I want to see the entire Marvel VS Capcom legacy series get a digital and physical re-release.
Next, we had a 40 minute Nintendo Direct showing off what’s to come for the rest of this year and in 2022! Here are some of the highlights:
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion coming in summer 2022
Chocobo GP coming in 2022
The FINAL Mr. Sakurai Presents for Super Smash Bros Ultimate is set to reveal the FINAL Fighter in Fighters Pass Vol. 2 on October 5th at 10am ET/7am PT
Kirby and the Forgotten Land will land on Switch Spring 2022
Animal Crossing New Horizons updates, including the return of The Roost, are coming in November, with a more detailed look coming in October in a dedicated Direct.
Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games will come to the Nintendo Switch Online service with a new membership plan which existing members can switch over to. Part of the announcement also included new wireless N64 and Sega Genesis controllers are being made for the occasion. Details on pricing will be made sometime in October as well as the exact release date.
Deltarune Chapter 2 will be added to Deltarune Chapter 1 for free as part of an update.
Shigeru Miyamoto also appeared to talk about the Super Mario movie and announced that it’ll hit theaters Holiday 2022 with North America getting it on December 21st, 2022. Along with that, the English voice cast was announced:

Lastly, after four years, Nintendo finally showed off Bayonetta 3 which is slated for a 2022 release.
