Welcome back to yet another Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update for the week of October 11th, 2021!
The rumors are true! Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto – The Trilogy Definitive Edition! The PS2 trilogy of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, which marked the shift to the 3D open-world games the GTA series is best know for will be making their way to all current-gen consoles including: PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, as well as PC. No release date was announced but more information will be coming in the coming weeks. The original versions of the Trilogy will be removed from storefronts this week, possibly as soon as today, so pick them up if you want the historical versions before they’re delisted!
Both Metroid Dread and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl were recently released on Friday, October 8th. As of writing this article, I could not find a copy of All-Star Brawl at any GameStop in my area but was able to find a copy at a Walmart nearby and can’t wait to play it.
Also released on October 8th is the Nintendo Switch OLED model. After playing around with the OLED, the display is absolutely amazing! I would recommend the OLED model if you are getting a Switch for the first time.
Finally, I can’t end this article post without saying SORA IS IN SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE! On October 5th, Masahiro Sakurai not only revealed that Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series will be the FINAL character of the DLC Fighters Pass but that Sora was the most requested character in the Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS/WiiU Fighter’s Ballot back in 2015! Sora will be in Smash Ultimate on October 18th.
