Back to The Old Days, Toonami to Start Adult Swim off Starting Saturday, October 6th

With the recent news of Toonami expanding to primetime on Saturdays, Myself, Phantom, and Steven were talking about this on Wednesday during an episode of Toonami Squad Gaming Zone whether or not Adult Swim would loose it’s 8pm hour again like it did back in 2015 and 2016 and whether or not Toonami would start Adult Swim off or if Adult Swim would shift the whole block an hour back. Well now we know, starting October 1st Adult Swim will indeed be loosing it’s 8pm hour, which means Toonami will now be starting Adult Swim off at 9pm EST starting October 6th going back to the old days when it was Cartoon Network, then Toonami and then Adult Swim on Saturdays. Toonami’s lineup will not be affected it will still run 9pm-4am EST with 2 hours of regular Adult Swim programming behind it.

On a side note this explains why Adult Swim started doubling up Dragon Ball Super on it’s weekday run so they could finish it’s run off before the 8pm loss. The last episodes of Dragon Ball Super’s weekday run will air on Thursday September 27th with it being two episodes behind Toonami.

It should also be noted that the 8pm hour loss will not be permanent like in 2015 and 2016 the 8pm hour will most likely return sometime in January.
