Updated 1/23/19 @10:25pm C/T: Our contact from Toei Animation has wrote us back and confirmed that Toei Animation DOES NOT have plans to produce new DBS episodes at this time.

A spotlight on various Toei properties by WorldScreen.com reports additional episodes of the Dragon Ball Super television series from Toei Animation.

The National Association of Television Program Executives hosted NATPE Miami, and World Screen was there to cover news from foreign companies. It was there the trade magazine spotlighted news coming from Toei Animation, and you can read what World Screen reported about the future of Dragon Ball Super below:

“The company is also making more episodes of Dragon Ball Super, a Japanese fantasy martial arts action series in the Dragon Ball media franchise that follows Goku in the aftermath of Majin Buu’s defeat and as God of Destruction Beerus awakens.”

So far, no official comment has been given by the studio about the report. ToonamiSquad.com has reached out to Toei Animation for comment.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is now out in theaters and The Dragon Ball Super television series concluded in March 2018 with 131 total episodes. FUNimation owns the American distribution license for the series, with the English dub airing on Adult Swim’s Toonami at 11:00pm E/T on Saturdays, and the home video release reaching its seventh box set this coming April.

This story is still developing and we will update once more information becomes available.
