Last Saturday night we were all watching Toonami as we do every Saturday, but then tragedy stuck the Toonami Community as we all learned of the sudden passing of a legend, Clay Martin Croker. Clay was best known as the voice of Zorak and Moltar on Space Ghost Coast to Coast as well as Toonami’s first host. Clay touched so many of us with his work not only with Space Ghost Coast to Coast or Toonami, but the entire Adult Swim & Williams Street community as well. He will truly be missed, but we will never forget him.

There were several events that happened both before and after this news broke out. Now I’m not trying to call people out to put them down or make them look bad, but to hopefully make them learn from their actions.

A certain individual, a so called “leader” of the Toonami Community posted a very disgusting and disrespectful tweet after learning of the passing of Clay Croker. Everyone is in shock, mourning, and paying their respects to this man and this individual posted a tweet that was very disrespectful and wrong. There are differences between running a fansite and running a business. We do this to share our love and passion of Toonami and to help promote and support it. This isn’t about who gets the most impact or views or who has the most followers or site traffic. To constantly complain about trolls doing stupid stuff, yet go and do something like this. This makes you just as bad if not worse than the trolls. A leader of the Toonami Community is supposed to be better, do better than this. I use to have a lot of respect for you when you first started doing what you were doing when Toonami came back in 2012, but you are clearly not that person anymore. I truly hope you understand that what you did was completely wrong.

Moving on, there are people within the community who keep constantly aggravating and complaining to Jason DeMarco about the ratings, that certain shows are hurting Toonami, or that he doesn’t know what he is doing. Please, just STOP! The man knows what he’s doing, he’s been doing this for 20+ years now, he knows more about this than we ever will. Also, keep in mind that the amount of information that comes out to the public regarding the ratings is practically nothing compared to the amount of information TV Networks have on their ratings. If he says Toonami is doing great and the network is happy, then Toonami is fine and won’t be going anywhere! If there is something to worry about, he will let us know, he has no reason to lie to us so please stop bothering and aggravating the man, let him be in peace.

There are also individuals in the community who keep bothering and aggravating the voice actors of Dragon Ball Z about Dragon Ball Super getting dubbed. They seriously need to stop too! It has gotten to the point where Sean Schemmel, the voice of Goku, had to temporarily delete his twitter account.

They do not know anything about Dragon Ball Super, FUNimation doesn’t even have the rights to the show yet, so how in the hell are the voice actors supposed to know anything?! The voice actors do not have any control over anything with FUNimation getting the dub, there’s nothing they can do to make it happen any faster. When Funimation has info about Dragon Ball Super, they will let you know. So please stop aggravating the voice actors about it and be patient.

People, we are grown ass adults and it’s time for everyone to start acting like it. What pains me most about writing this article is that it’s going to be almost a year since I wrote the first “Current State of The Toonami Fandom” article, I had hope things would get better but I honestly feel things have only gotten worse. This constant pointless bickering and nonsensical egotistical crap that’s going on needs to stop, it doesn’t matter what site is better or who gets the most views/traffic. Yeah, your reaching a lot of people. That’s good, that means you’re doing something right, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to be an asshole about it. Aggravating Jason about the ratings isn’t going to change anything, if you want higher ratings than get more people to watch and vote with your eye balls. Just because you don’t like a show or you think a show is bad doesn’t mean it’s going to hurt Toonami, not everyone is going to like everything that airs on the block people, get over it. We all want the dub for Dragon Ball Super to come out, but aggravating the voice actors about something they don’t know and can’t do anything about is not going to make it happen any faster. I can only hope people will grow up and things will get better within the community, but I guess only time will tell. I just hope I’m don’t have be back here again writing another “Current State of The Toonami Fandom” article or if I do, I hope it’s at least on the positive side of things.

To C. Martin Croker, I want to say thank you for all the awesome work you gave us over the years. You were a big part of our lives growing up, from Space Ghost Coast to Coast, to Toonami and so much more. You will be terribly missed, but we will never forget. May you rest in peace.
