Kingdom Hearts on Switch release date and Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary plans announced

Last Updated on by Phantom

Back in October, after the reveal that Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series would be the final DLC character in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Fighter’s Pass, it was also announced that all the Kingdom Hearts games would make their way to the Nintendo Switch via Cloud Gaming. Immediately after the final Mr. Sakurai Presents video, Square Enix dropped a trailer announcing their plans for the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series with more info to come at a later date.

And now, we come to today’s news drop: in the early hours of this morning (during a full moon), it was announced that Square Enix is to hold their Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event in Tokyo on April 10th. This event includes a mini concert, a chat and Q&A with the development team, an exhibition, and much more. A video of the event will be made available at a future date. Personally, I hope they don’t repeat what they did with the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix launch event and not withhold exclusive content for only those who attend to the event.

Finally, it was announced that Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud will be released on February 10th on Nintendo Switch. Within this collection it includes Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 Remix, 2.8, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + the ReMind DLC. Starting today, you’ll be able to try out free playable demos of 1.5+2.5, 2.8, and III. In addition, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be receiving an exclusive Keyblade for the Nintendo Switch version called Advent Red, which is a palette swap of the Dawn Till Dusk Keyblade, an Amazon exclusive variant.
