Over the last few days news has been circulating around twitter and YouTube that a Samurai Jack Prequel series from the creator of “Teen Titans Go” called “Lil Jack” is going to premiere on Cartoon Network in Fall 2017. We have confirmed with Cartoon Network / Turner that this news is fake.

Here is a page from a press release we’ve obtained from Turner stating Cartoon Network’s programming slate for the 2017-18 season:

Also as one of my fellow colleagues , Sam (), here at Toonami Squad pointed out, Adult Swim now owns the rights to Samurai Jack so a series on Cartoon Network would be very unlikely and would cause potential issues. Also Jason DeMarco has previously stated that once Adult Swim owns a series it can’t air on Cartoon Network.

Although, several people reported this news we have discovered that the source of this news originated on a twitter account called which makes fake news to report.

We here at Toonami Squad have made the mistake of being duped by fake news once before and learned our lesson. Here’s a bit of advice to any one who reports news. When reporting news be sure to thoroughly check the facts and sources of where the news you are reporting on came from to make sure that it is legit or not before reporting it.
