The long awaited “One Punch-Man” has finally made it’s Toonami debut. The show’s premiere had noticeable effects as the block’s golden child, “Dragon Ball Z Kai”, was beaten in both target demographic (18-49) and total viewership by another Toonami show. It also made quite the media buzz, as the show made it to the Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings Daily Top 5 for Series & Specials.
“One Punch-Man” also made it to the number #2 spot of the Top 10 Original Cable Telecasts of Saturday along with “Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”, which took the number #3 spot. As for the rest, the block had a great night as none of the shows dipped below 677k in total viewership.
With One Punch-Man’s addition to the block, it’ll be interesting to see how much retention the show will have during it’s run.
What do you think? Can One Punch-Man keep bringing in these numbers? Or do you think it was a one time thing? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
