Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update 1/10

Last Updated on by Phantom

Welcome back to yet another Toonami Squad Gaming Zone System Update for the week of January 10th, 2022!

CES came and went and with it, Sony announced PlayStation VR2! PSVR2 improvements over the last-gen model include eye tracking, 4K HDR, and foveated rendering. PSVR2 is confirmed to use inside-out tracking, using integrated cameras embedded in the VR headset, marking a departure from the original unit. “Your movements and the direction you look at are reflected in-game without the need for an external camera.” Sony also announced a new installment in the Horizon series, Call of the Mountain, for PSVR2.

Due to the spike in Omicron variant COVID-19 cases, the ESA has announced that this year’s E3 will not be held in June 2022 in Los Angeles as originally planned. While a digital event is expected by most, ESA reps commented to IGN that they currently have no plans in place for any sort of event and additional details will be announced soon.

The Pokémon Company released a six minute overview video for Pokémon Legends Arceus, but only for the Japanese YouTube channel. No international versions have been released as of yet.

There’s also a huge rumor circulating currently that Mario Kart 9 is in “active development” and could be revealed this year. While we at TSGZ don’t read into rumors, we are cautiously optimistic that it’ll happen.

(Do note that days and the time for our streams is subjected to change sometimes whether we like it or not.)
