“I don’t think I need protecting right now [Takagi], but the civilians above do. Don’t be dense, I’m not taking any more of a risk than you are. I don’t think the flames care what gender I am. You might have forced Mom off the front lines, but I’m different. Shut up and watch. I have the power to save lives. […] Listen to me. This is what I do. This is what the 8th does.”

Demon Slayer has been a smash hit in the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train ranked as the #1 movie on its opening day, grossing an estimated $9.5 million in 1,598 theaters. Demon Slayer ended its opening weekend at #2 with $21,144,800 in 1,600 theaters, just $2 million short of beating Mortal Combat. As of this writing, Mugen Train has a total gross of $27,705,843. Worldwide, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train has grossed over $442.81 million USD, surpassing Spirited Away as the highest grossing anime film of all time.
