Toonami Trending Rundown for January 28th- 29th, 2017, By @AnimeSavior

“You’ve made progress [Gon], but you do still lack experience. If we had 10 more matches, I believe we might actually have a good fight. Of course, that’s assuming those fights take place here in Heaven’s Arena. Therefore, I will not be fighting you here again. Our next fight will be in the real world without rules to hinder us…with our lives on the line.”

–          Hisoka, Hunter x Hunter (Ep. 36)

“He’s so far beyond me, but he’s not so far out of reach that I can’t catch up someday. I need more training and Nen. I’ve got to find a power that’s as strong as Hisoka’s.”

–          Gon Freecss

The Toonami Trending Rundown for January 28-29, 2017. This week saw some arc/season finales for several shows, as Hunter x Hunter finishes the Heaven’s arena arc (with Gon coming up short against Hisoka), while Naruto wraps up the Fated Battle Between Brothers arc (as Sasuke and the Taka capture Killer Bee) and One Punch Man completes its Season 1 encore run, among other moments.

In terms of trending, every show trended in the US during their respective East Coast airings with Super, Kai, Shippuden, and One Piece even reaching #1, and many of the shows even trending well past their respective showtimes. Dragon Ball Super and Samurai Jack would also trend in the US during the primetime hour, and both Dragon Ball Super and One Piece would even trend worldwide.

One Piece produced a character trend in Zoro for the third week in a row, as Kuma offers to let the Strawhats go on condition of using his powers to take all of Luffy’s pain away and transfer it to Zoro, noting that it could kill him. Zoro agrees regardless and while he is later seen covered in blood, he survives and tells Sanji that “nothing happened at all.”

Finally, Dragon Ball Super for the third time in four weeks reached Nielsen Social’s top 5 most talked about shows on Twitter and Facebook, the tenth time a Toonami show has reached the list and the second time a Toonami show had made it to said list in at least 3 occasions.

As the wait for One Punch Man season 2 continues, tune in next week as Hunter x Hunter begins the Yorknew City arc while Naruto begins the Six Tails Unleashed arc, among other great moments. And of course, to get you hyped up for the upcoming film, Toonami will be bringing out Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex for another run at 3am. Until next week, have a Happy Year of the Rooster, and stay gold.

The number next to the listed trend represents the highest it trended on the list (not counting the promoted trend), judging only by the images placed in the rundown.
